**Job Description**:

  • We are seeking an influential leader to join our Senior Management team as the Head of Service in Adult Social Care for Localities. This challenging and esteemed position involves overseeing the service area to ensure compliance with statutory obligations under the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and other legal requirements, including collaborative efforts with external agencies. As the Head of Service, you will offer strategic direction across various areas, such as the ongoing care and support for elderly individuals, individuals with disabilities, and those with mental health needs. Your expertise in leadership, management, and professional advice on family support and care planning will aid in providing a social care service aligned with regulations and standards established by the Care Quality Commission.

As the Interim Head of Service for Adult Social Care, you will provide strategic direction for ongoing care and support, emphasizing inclusivity and diversity within the social care team. Join us in empowering adults in the community to lead fulfilling lives to the best of their abilities.

**Required Experience**:

  • While this role presents challenges and conflicting priorities, it is equally fulfilling. Your background should demonstrate substantial experience in leading and managing diverse teams comprising social workers, team managers, occupational therapists, and enabling independent officers. Your track record must include fostering productive partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Additionally, we expect candidates to hold a Degree in Social Care and possess significant experience as a team manager in delivering adult social care services within a large, complex organization. Up-to-date knowledge of local government, the social care sector, and the NHS is required. Experience in guiding multi-disciplinary teams through organizational and cultural changes, financial management, and a proven ability to enhance the delivery of sustainable social care services is essential.
