Increasingly we are helping O&G clients navigate the Energy Transition where SLR's environmental consulting credentials offer a wealth of experience in renewables, carbon management and ESG.

An opportunity has arisen for a new Director to join the Energy Advisory Services team.

Working alongside our technical, commercial and economics experts, the successful candidate will lead business development and project delivery for M&A projects.


About the role:

nThe core business of the Energy Advisory team is asset acquisition due diligence, divestment support, legal disputes, field development studies and commercial/economics analysis projects.


If successful you will be expected to:

nOriginate client assignments, manage projects, and liaise with clientsnWork alongside other Energy Advisory experts (subsurface, drilling, facilities, economics & commercial professionals) to ensure that project deliverables meet all the client's requirementsnLead the marketing and business development effort required to continue to grow the M&A business line.

nEnsure that SLR is represented at key industry events to maintain the team's reputation as a preferred provider of advicenStay connected to the market, at the forefront of trends, and ensure the team remains best positioned to respond to changing market conditions; offering services which are relevant and competitivenPrepare and deliver presentations and reports to clients and SLR managementnAssist with mentoring and development of junior staff

We'd envisage that you would bring the following skills, expertise and experience:

  • Substantial international experience in upstream energyn
  • Significant technical and commercial/economics expert experience from Operator or JV rolesn
  • Natural networker with strong international industry contacts networkn
  • Experience of advising senior/executive management – either as an internal company role or as an external consultantn
  • Experience of oil and gas projects across the value chain (exploration to production and sales point)n
  • Exposure to a range of international projects and marketsn
  • Excellent communication skills commensurate with delivering advice to senior teams. All-round familiarity with the technical vocabularies of the various O&G technical disciplines.n
  • Comfortable using limited VDR data to quickly identify & prioritise key issues and advise clients on way forwardn
  • Self-starter with an appetite for generating pragmatic ideas and solutionsnAny experience of dispute situations would be beneficial (either in arbitration/court context or partner disputes/negotiations), as would experience of facilities/Operations management, Asset Integrity or Decommissioning experience, energy transition technology and exposure to energy transition projects
