Each year we deliver over 7,500 babies, carry out around 50,000 gynaecological inpatient and outpatient procedures, care for over 1,000 poorly and premature newborns, perform around 1,000 IVF cycles, and conduct over 4,000 genetic appointments.

Main duties of the job
The Sonographer will be involved in the delivery of Obstetric, Gynaecological and General ultrasound services to all patients attending the imaging department, satellite units and wards, with some optional weekend and evening shifts.
They will be able to organise their workload efficiently and liase with referrers and other staff to optimise service delivery.
The Post Holder will work unsupervised in delivering aspects of ultrasound scanning that may include:- Obstetrics and Gynaecology scanning
- Abdominal scanning
- Advanced fetal monitoring
- Leg vein Doppler scans
Excellent communication skills are essential due to the need to deliver highly sensitive and potentially upsetting information to both patients and relatives.
- HCPC registered
- Experience within NHS
- Experience working at a Band 7 level
- PGD in ultrasound or equivalent
- Obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound experience
- The role requires Professional Registration and Qualification evidence
