Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Resuscitation Training Officer available within the trust and also the new Health and Social Care Academy.

The successful candidate will work across sites within both of our Simulation Suites.

Main duties of the job

To co-ordinate the use with the maintenance of all resuscitation equipment within the Trust.

To act as a professional resource for all members of the hospital team.

To act as key resource for simulation training

To maintain high standards of delivery of resuscitation training through audit and to have the ability to act upon any issues identified.

To ensure an accurate resuscitation database is maintained.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To respond to critical incident investigations when appropriate, producing action plans necessary to ensure safe, effective procedures are in place and appropriate training provided.

To offer support and advice to all staff after a resuscitation attempt and facilitate the opportunity for reflective practice.

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Nurse or Paramedic ALS Provider

Desirable

ALS Instructor APLS/EPLS Instructor

Experience

Essential

Experienced Clinical Practitioner in Acute care Evidence of planning, delivering and evaluating teaching programmes.

Desirable

Experience in teaching other related life support skills first aid, BLS

Skills

Essential

Able to perform audit Willing to work flexible times to fit in with the need of the service An educational aptitude in the delivery of research based clinical education covering a broad spectrum of care needs Excellent communication skills Be receptive to change

Awareness of the audit process Clinical skills teaching
