This Engineering Assistant will report to the Senior Project Manager and will work within Networks Operations, Distribution Capital Delivery based in our Colchester office.

You will be a permanent employee.

You will attract a salary of £29,647 per annum and a bonus of 3%.

Close Date: 9th April 2024.

Job Purpose


The role of the Engineering Assistant will be the provision of a diverse range of activities to support the Project Management responsibilities within the Distribution Capital Delivery team based at Southend and provide administrative support to ensure Projects are delivered safely to time and cost.

This includes working with the Project/ Field Managers, Field staff, Finance, other members of the Network Operations and Contractors.

Provide administrative support to the Project/ Field Managers, Work Planners and the wider team to ensure the efficient operation of the Distribution Capital Delivery team Southend.

Within
SAP update work orders, schedule works, and provide street works links.

Accomplish general administrative tasks including distribution of post, photocopying, scanning, filing, and archiving.


Understand P2P and Procurement process to ensure the accurate raising of purchase orders, purchase requisitions and goods receipt of orders.

Raise and process service orders.

Stores orders on
SAP
Understand handheld devices used in the field to offer operatives support.

Help report for the Distribution Capital Delivery team Southend.

Create Project closure documentation and provide administrative support to ensure the prompt closure of completed projects.

Process stationery orders.

Maintain a record of and order PPE for the Distribution Capital Delivery team Southend.

Maintain Training Plan and records for Distribution Capital Delivery team Southend.

Raise IT Requests.

Follow all business procedures and company safety policies.

Perform a storm role during emergencies.

Qualifications:

A basic understanding of the Network and the variety of jobs undertaken by the business.

Sound knowledge of
SAP and other relevant systems to ensure that a high quality and efficient service is provided.

Experience working within a Project Delivery environment.

Experience of Streetworks.

Work as part of a team, manage own workload and assist others to increase the contribution to the team.

The ability to work with others to achieve shared goals and increase the contribution of the team.

Use own initiative, with an ambition to succeed.

Good level PC literacy and use a variety of systems. Accurate keyboard skills.

The ability to manage and prioritise your workload, to help ensure the delivery of works.

Flexible attitude to work and working hours.

Within their own team and developing wider working contacts.

Comply with the P2P process when raising and processing purchase orders.

Customer

Communicate with Project/ Field Managers to ensure relevant information is delivered.

Communicate with other delivery functions to ensure the smooth running of Distribution Capital Delivery works.
