Supplier Quality Engineer

Based in Cambridge the Supplier Quality Engineer will be joining a global leader in the development of Wireless mobile technology.

The position will be focused on the full supply chain process, producing quality results to agreed specifications, while taking ownership of continuous development within the company.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing data, analysis, and feedback on existing issues, trends, and developments.

A successful candidate will need to ensure that that various actions are ordered in their significance and improved through root-cause analysis.

The actions a candidate makes will need to be corrective, sustainable and cost-effective and they will need to be able to demonstrate past instances where this has been achieved.


Other responsibilities will also include evaluating and suggesting process improvements with external suppliers, thereby guaranteeing products are manufacturable on an on-going basis.

There will also be a focus on suppliers' audits, leading process improvement projects, and ensuring suppliers have documented quality control plan in place.

A successful candidate will need to have proven experience in the management of an international, technically orientated supply chain, along with the following:

  • Previous experience within an engineering-based quality role. Additionally, supplier quality, product and process audit, spc and data analysis will also be considered.n
  • Professional knowledge and functional use of six sigma methodology and tools to improve manufacturing processes (Yellow Belt minimum).n
  • High-grade level of understanding of best methods across industries and how to apply these in an appropriate, scalable manner.n
  • In-depth understanding of electro-mechanical manufacturing processes & controls; Such as Surface Mount Assembly, injection-moulding (PC & TPE), mechanical assembly & inspection.n
  • Experience with internal and external audits will also be key.
Candidates from a heavy industrial background will not be suited to this position.
