Burgess Hill, West Sussex, United Kingdom Pink Tile Education - Sussex Full time

Are you ready to embark on a truly rewarding journey? Join our exceptional SEN school and make a positive impact on the lives of young learners with special educational needs. This is not just a job; it's an opportunity to create a brighter future for these incredible children.

We are seeking proactive individuals who are passionate about education and possess the initiative to maintain a smooth-running classroom while ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.

As a member of our dedicated team, you will have the chance to nurture and guide these little ones, providing them with the support they need to thrive.

Flexibility is key in our dynamic school environment. No two days are alike, offering you the chance to embrace new challenges and continuously adapt.

You will become an integral part of a strong team consisting of four Teaching Assistants and a Teacher, working collaboratively to create an inclusive and supportive educational experience.

Your contributions will extend beyond your classroom, as you actively contribute to the ethos of the entire school.

In addition to your professionalism, we value a great attitude. Get ready to unleash your creativity as you engage in activities like singing and toy modelling. We provide opportunities for your personal and professional growth, including access to courses and training provided by the school.

Your consistency and reliability will be highly valued, as you play a crucial role in the children's learning, routines, and potential assistance with mobility, feeding, and personal care, depending on the needs of your class.

Working hours from 8:45 am to 4:00 pm (5:00 pm on Tuesdays) provide a stable schedule, allowing you to enjoy a healthy work-life balance.

This full-time position follows term-time only, with five inset days included.

While we do hire for specific roles such as Early Years, Primary, or Secondary, all applicants must be open to covering classes throughout the school as needed.

Starting as a temporary position with a 12-week probation period, there is the potential for a permanent role if you flourish in our environment.

At our school, you will be part of a diverse community, supporting students with a range of mild learning disabilities.

Some children may be non-verbal, communicating through gestures and behaviour, requiring you to interpret their needs and find effective solutions.

Specific training, including medical support, mobility assistance, feeding, and personal care, will be provided based on individual requirements.

In the lower years, learning takes the form of play and engaging activities, both indoors and outdoors. You will also have opportunities for one-on-one learning with children while they play. In the higher years, students work independently, making choices to achieve success, with your support as a Teaching Assistant. Most students will be studying for entry-level or P-level qualifications. Your ability to identify learning objectives and use your initiative to support children's engagement through play is crucial.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate closely with the class teacher, reading and interpreting lesson plans, and providing reflective feedback about the children you worked with at the end of each day.

Your role as a positive role model to your pupils will shape their experiences and inspire them to reach their full potential.

While experience in working with children and SEN is ideal, we encourage applicants who possess a genuine interest and enthusiasm for this field.

Your passion and commitment are highly valued, and we will provide the necessary support and training to help you succeed.

This is your chance to join an extraordinary school that values the personal and professional growth of its staff. Update your CV and prepare to take the next step towards a fulfilling career as an SEN Teaching Assistant. We can't wait to speak with you

Rest assured, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Successful applicants will undergo various background checks, including obtaining a DBS certificate if they do not already hold a valid certificate on the update service.
