Join our team as a Construction Engineer - Electrical Workpacks on the Hinkley Point C Project and contribute to delivering impactful work that truly matters to our business and the world around us.

Construction Engineers play a vital role in the project. Upon receiving a new scope of work, engineers review the information, assess the requirements, and compile a comprehensive pack with all necessary documents for construction teams to successfully execute the installation works.

You will collaborate closely with the construction team to ensure all documents are approved and maintained up to date. Any modifications or deviations from the documents will be documented and revisions made to accurately reflect the construction progress.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE attitude and a strong Nuclear Safety Culture throughout the construction life cycle.
  • Support the work pack Lead in producing Construction work packs and related documentation on a daily basis.
  • Accountable for delivering discipline-specific construction Workpack scope of works to support construction activities.
  • Ensure documents comply with the latest works information and client procedures.
  • Review construction activities in the Workpack to align with relevant specifications.
  • Utilize core experience and engineering skills to assess practicalities and risks associated with construction activities.
  • Ensure documents are regularly updated and reviewed following the client's procedures.
  • Take ownership and drive deliverables from conception to 'A-Accepted' status with over 90% first-time acceptance rate.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and procedures.

Who we're looking for

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Have a background in Electrical discipline or hold an HNC/HND in electrical engineering.
  • Bring at least 5 years of industry experience in developing work pack documents within a major infrastructure project setting, or Graduates with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp complex subjects.
  • Previous experience in writing documentation and procedural materials for diverse audiences.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Have experience collaborating with engineering teams to enhance user experience and create visual support content.
  • Extensive familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Hold certifications such as IOSH Managing Safely, CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport, and preferably have knowledge of Navisworks and engineering standards.
  • Can interpret drawings, understand scopes, and are articulate, knowledgeable, and confident when challenging situations arise.
