Our Nursery
Toddlerz are a family run setting founded in 2015 and have welcomed children from surrounding areas ever since. We are Ofsted rated Good and look to maintain that moving forward. We are located in the heart of Kettering with public transport and car parking facilities nearby.
The Role
As a Childcare assistant you will be a key-person working as part of a busy nursery team maintaining our good standards as rated by Ofsted under the direction of the nursery managers & supervisor to provide safe, high quality care for young children.
- To assist with the planning of the curriculum. To help set up the nursery room for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session.
- To deliver and plan an excellent learning opportunity and exceptional care to allow children to develop and meet their individual needs.
- To have good knowledge of the EYFS.
- To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.
- To advise the nursery manager/supervisor of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of the equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
- To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation which will allow each child an enabling environment to learn.
- Ensuring that British Values are demonstrated through their learning and Safeguarding, and promote the health, safety and welfare of children in line with our child protection and keeping children safe policies and procedures.
- To attend inhouse and home training courses and staff meetings as required.
- To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is required as part of the job.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience working and caring for young children. (preferred)
- A willingness to learn and undertake regular childcare training/qualifications
- Passion to deliver high quality childcare
- Prioritise the safeguarding of the children at all times
- Take ownership of your observations, assessments and planning for your assigned key children in line with EYFS.
- Remain up to date with our in house childcare policies and procedures.
- Be confident in yourself to speak up when you believe something is wrong and potentially harmful to the children
- As a keyworker, you will ensure every individual child's needs are met, including supporting parents with any SEND/ASL needs.
