Are you passionate about supporting the educational journey of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Are you experienced in providing tailored support to students in a classroom setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEND Teaching Assistant for a Year 6 class.

This wonderful school we are working with are looking for an SEND Teaching assistant to start in April 2024. This Junior school prides itself on being a safe, happy place where the children excel academically, creatively and socially.

SEND Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Provide onetoone and small group support to students with SEND, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet the individual needs of students
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students facing challenges
  • A SEND Teaching Assistant will monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

SEND Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEND, preferably in a classroom setting.
  • A clear understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students facing challenges
