About the role

Our Central Rail Systems Alliance offers the unique opportunity to work with partner organisations across the rail industry. CRSA has been created to make a positive impact on the UK track renewals industry by drawing on the strengths of all alliance partners and collaborative working.

Bringing together knowledge and experience in critical rail infrastructure and track renewals, the alliance deploys innovative working methods to realise efficiencies and create a more reliable railway infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

Manage the Depot delivery teams to plan works to meet or exceed tendered margins, while considering the Routes Strategic Business Rates. Monitor and present performance KPIs and KRAs, striving to achieve full annual targets. Ensure changes to scope and specification are managed, and that risk/change registers are maintained. Participate in and contribute to the development of works. Ensure methodologies, resource requirements, estimates, and plans are prepared to ensure safe and cost-effective delivery of the work. Promote and ensure safe working practices in accordance with the appropriate CRSA, NWR, and relevant safety legislation. Discharge all Construction Design Management (CDM) obligations for projects as directed. Lead compliance in corporate health, safety, quality, and environmental processes for the programme. Ensure accidents, incidents, and other non-conformances are investigated and reported, with recommendations/actions closed out. Ensure all staff are trained and competent to undertake their duties, maintaining competency matrices for staff.

What we're looking for

Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent relevant engineering and commercial experience, operating in middle management roles. Proven experience in the UK railway industry, including knowledge of safety matters and Group Standards (NWR, BB). Experience in the successful management of major programmes of work in the construction and/or rail industries. Strong commercial focus and financially astute, with knowledge of business investment processes and procedures. Knowledge of Health & Safety principles, quality, and environmental legislation best practices, including Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations. Excellent communication skills with demonstrable experience in delivering leadership and driving behavioural change within a large organisation. Possesses the presence, knowledge, and communication skills to make an effective contribution to strategic debates in a multi-functional group.
