About The Role


Early Years Alliance are seeking a self-motivated, pro-active Educator to manage our creche and play services across the London and South East area, leading and managing the projects and line managing and supporting a team of flexi workers.


Applicants should be qualified to NVQ in Childcare Level 3 or above, or the equivalent, and have experience of managing projects and staff teams.

Applicants should have a dynamic and pro-active approach, excellent knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding awareness and an ability to deliver high-quality services for young children and their families in a range of venues.

Main duties:

  • To support the implementation, delivery and development of EYFSfocused sessions, and coordinate and lead existing play and creche provision across the London and Southeast area.
  • To visit projects and creche provision to provide role modelling, guidance and support, additionally working in sessions where needed to cover staff leave, sickness and training.
  • To lead and deliver high quality EYFSfocused stay and play and creche sessions for children and their families in children's centres, outreach venues, schools and community delivery sites as directed by the line manager.
  • To line manage staff within area of responsibility, providing regular supervision, performance management, training opportunities and support.
  • To be responsible for the daytoday oversight and management of sessions in line with the Alliance's policies and procedures and EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare requirements. To ensure that the environment, including equipment offered, is clean, safe and secure and maintained to a good hygiene standard.

To maintain a high level of safety during sessions and to ensure that thorough risk assessments are in place in line with the Alliance's policies and procedures.


  • To manage the Alliance Resource Library, maintaining an up to date inventory, carrying out stock control and managing movement of equipment and resources amongst Alliance services.

Essential criteria:

  • A childcare qualification at Level 3 or above, or other relevant qualification.
  • Experience of line management of a staff team including conducting 11 supervisions and managing performance.
  • Significant proven experience of delivering and managing childcare and/or family sessions such as toddler groups, dropins, nursery provision, crèches, family learning sessions, or other relevant early years service.
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS 2021), child development and how young children learn through play, talk and discovery, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of safeguarding, an ability to deliver to the EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare requirements and provide a safe learning environment, including knowledge of how to conduct full risk assessments on venues and services.
  • Ability to carry small loads, load and unload a car or van, and travel across the designated area.
  • All successful applicants will be required to register and subscribe with the DBS Update Service (if you have not already done so) and undertake a new enhanced disclosure and barring check (even if you have an existing DBS Certificate)._
