Salary:
£25,803 to £27,735 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £25,803 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £27,735 will be via incremental progression.

This is an exciting time to be working in the Processing and Support Team for the Metropolitan Police Service. This means that as a Processing and Support Clerk, there are more opportunities for you to get involved with making London the safest global city in a time of unprecedented change within the UK's largest Police Service.
What does the average day look like? Your core duties will include:
The data entry of Traffic Offence Reports to a dedicated database, issued by Police Officers at the roadside. Processing the Notice of Intended Prosecution, Preparation of Court files for all Road Traffic Offences that require a hearing. Dealing with telephone enquiries from members of the public. Dealing with correspondence within the statutory time limit.

This includes:

  • Data entry of Road Traffic Offence reports to a dedicated database
  • Creation of court files relating to Traffic Offences that require a hearing
  • Accessing and be fully competent on Metropolitan Police systems
  • Monitoring cases to process within the Statuary time limit
  • Sorting and distributing incoming post and recording recorded/special delivery post
  • Processing offences that are going straight to court
  • Dealing with telephone calls from members of the public regarding traffic offences
  • Processing Parking Offences
  • Any other administrative task as directed
