The Opportunity:

  • We are looking for a Repairs and Material Controller to join the Product and Manufacturing, Repair and Overhaul (P&MRO) team within the Customer Support & Service Solutions (CS3) UK Line of Business. Our aim is to provide excellence in support for all our customers.

Seaspray, Blue Kestrel, Osprey and PicoSAR make up part of the portfolio of Leonardo's surveillance radars and you will be a key part of the team responsible for the successful delivery of the repairs and support for these surveillance radars.

As a Repairs and Material Controller, you will be play a key role in the progression of customer repairs and spares to meet demanding schedules whilst taking account of dynamic supply chains.

You will also provide essential management information on material availability and forecasting to enable repairs and support delivery to the satisfaction of our stakeholders across the lifetime of the products, cognisant of obsolescence impacts.

What you will do:

  • Working to support team Project Managers, the role holder will be responsible for the active progression of repairs as well as providing assistance and recommendations for the optimization of material and stock across the Profit Centre. You will need to liaise daily with various Project Managers, Obsolescence and other functional specialists, Quality and the Logistics Hub to understand issues that might impact customer satisfaction, successful project outcomes, repairs and support delivery. You will also be expected to contribute to monthly project performance reviews and provide forecasts and analysis to the Project Managers. Review and planning for material obsolescence will be an important part of this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Active daily monitoring and progression of repairs to ensure adherence to the plans.
  • Regular review of project material and material forecasting.
  • Liaison with Obsolescence specialists to understand repairs and support impacts.
  • Liaison across Functions to support product transition from Production to Support.
  • Completion of Customer Repair Reports for project review.
  • Repair costs review and price proposal for project review.
  • Initiation and progression of despatch and relevant trade compliance paperwork.
  • Update of SAP and repairs database records.
  • Monitoring and active management of Temporary Import dates and requirements.
  • Advice to Project of any schedule/financial issues affecting repairs progress.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrable material management experience and understanding of material issues.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent team working.
  • Good organisation skills, ability to plan and prioritize.
  • Experience of SAP is highly desirable.
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with standard company IT software packages (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Understanding of company cost control and performance metrics
