- Key roles and responsibilities:
- Investigate complaints alleging breaches of legislation, following all reasonable lines of enquiry to bring investigations to a relevant conclusion.
- Compile reports of breaches in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and prepare the case for Court, providing evidence in Magistrates, County, or Crown Court as necessary by liaising with legal professionals.
- Prepare and engage in outreach activities related to advice, education, information, and training for stakeholders.
- Conduct inspections of retail trade outlets, provide advice on legislation, and address law infringements as needed.
- Maintain an updated working knowledge of assigned legislation.
- Offer advice to consumers, businesses, partners, and represent the Division at relevant meetings when needed.
- Support other officers as necessary.
- Adhere to established departmental procedures.
- Carry out any other duties suitable for the role's level to ensure the Department/Section's efficient operation.
