About the role:
We are seeking a Research Assistant to join our Biomass CCI+ team at the University of Leicester, supporting in the analysis of Earth Observation data.
This data will be utilised in the production of high-quality forest biomass and biomass change data products, as part of the NCEO national capabilities in Earth Observation Data and Models.
You will work at the cutting edge of biomass research, contributing to the international effort to produce high quality datasets and exploit them to investigate carbon and ecosystem processes.
About you:
The ideal post holder will have excellent computational skills, deep knowledge of Earth Observation and be able to produce datasets, figures and statistics that can feed into high-quality journal publications.
This should be demonstrated through an MSc (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification and experience.
You should have experience in writing software with good programming skills, ideally in Python, R and/or JavaScript (with Google Earth Engine).
