Fitness operations:

  • To supervise the gym and studios to ensure the safety and welfare of all users at all times, giving appropriate guidance and advice to members as and when necessary.
  • Provide an advisory service, including health checks, inductions, exercise prescription and fitness testing for all members and prospective members of the club.
  • Have and maintain a thorough knowledge of current and topical health and fitness related issues and trends.
  • To ensure our 12 week member journey is followed by all fitness instructors and a review process is implemented to ensure consistency.
  • To maintain all manual records, as required by the management team to effectively administer the Health & Safety facilities.

Staffing/management support:

  • To actively coach individuals within the fitness team in all disciplines in relation to our fitness product offering.
  • To support the Fitness Manager in the delivery of regular 1:1s and appraisals with Fitness Instructors in order to discuss their performance.
  • To support the Fitness Manager in the recruitment, training and development process including inducting new Fitness Instructors to the team.
  • To ensure all Fitness Instructor profiles are kept up to date.
  • To support the Fitness Manager with the coordination of any fitness specific training.
  • To support the Fitness Manager in coordinating any rota cover requirements.
  • To ensure regular gym challenges are in place to help motivate our members.

General:

  • To deal with all customer queries in a friendly, efficient manner in accordance with the Company's 'Customer Care Policy'.
  • To actively sell the benefits of membership of the Club to prospective members and seek to retain members at all times.
  • To attend programmed staff training sessions as required by the Management Team.
  • To develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of other areas of the operation and assist in these areas as required.


The 37 hour contract is based on a 2 week rolling rota which consists of a variety of early and late shifts as well as working every second Saturday.


In addition to the basic salary, a supplement will be offered for any manager who acts as Duty Manger whilst on shift (dependent on experience). There will also be an opportunity to deliver classes both on and off shift where again, a supplement will be paid on top of the basic salary.
