The post-holder will provide professional leadership to research staff and wider Research clinical audit and improvement team, ensuring professional standards are in place.

Playing a key role in developing the clinical research workforce working across Hounslow and Richmond Community Trust (HRCH) and Kingston Hospital.

Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and support delivery of portfolio and non-portfolio research. Playing a key role in ensuring that any research supported by HRCH safeguards the wellbeing of the patients.


With the Director of Research the post holder will facilitate the development and maintenance of a research infrastructure and delivery of research.

Ensuring the clinical research teams are responsive and trained appropriately to undertake research.

Engaging in clinical practice at an advanced level and provide professional advice and support to staff members, colleagues and managers as required.

  • Deputise for the Director Research
  • Actively participate in the annual budget setting process
  • Provide professional advice, support and training to staff members, colleagues and managers as required.
  • Assist the Director of Research in managing incidents, accidents and complaints in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Participate in audits, evaluations and benchmarking exercises and suggest any change to improve standards
  • Liaise with study teams to facilitate the delivery of research to agreed timelines and targets.
  • Scope patient pathways with a view to integration of research protocol pathways.
