Role Overview:
Service Care Solutions and London Borough of Newham are collaborating to hire a dedicated Violence Reduction Coordinator. This position involves orchestrating interventions and schemes to diminish violence in the borough, with a specific emphasis on gang-related violence, knife crime, and violence against women and girls (VAWG). The selected candidate will collaborate closely with both statutory and non-statutory agencies to ensure the effective implementation of Newham's violence reduction action plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordination and Strategy: Lead the execution of violence reduction initiatives funded by MOPAC and Newham Partnership, guaranteeing the achievement of strategic and operational objectives.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and sustain strong partnerships with essential stakeholders such as Police, Social Care, Health services, and community groups.
  • Intervention Management: Supervise the deployment of interventions, ensuring they tackle significant violence and vulnerability concerns.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the progress and results of violence reduction strategies, delivering regular updates to the Community Safety Partnership and pertinent boards.
  • Leadership: Manage and provide support to the violence reduction team, fostering a culture of high performance focused on continual enhancement.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Comprehensive understanding of violence and vulnerability-related crime, particularly in VAWG and gang/knife crime issues.
  • Proven track record in developing multi-agency partnerships and implementing strategies.
  • Exceptional project and contract management capabilities, encompassing budgeting and performance monitoring.
  • Effective communication and report-writing skills, capable of engaging with senior management and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
