Responsibilities:

This post will also assist Glory House in fulfilling the following prime objectives;

  • Membership ensuring every member of Glory House is pastored and nurtured.
  • Maturing every believer to grow from a young convert into a leader
  • Ministry providing training to empower Christians for ministry
  • Music transforming individuals into worshippers
  • Missions equipping saints to become soul winners and reach out

Aim of the post

  • To work within the vision and aims of Glory House
  • To oversee the Accounts Dept volunteers.
  • To ensure all areas of responsibilities within the Accounts Department function at maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Hours

  • Working 5 days a week Tuesday-Friday including 1hour lunch 9.30am 5.30pm and Sundays 9:30am
  • 4:30pm
  • Will work the occasional Saturday when necessary to be taken back as TOIL (Time off in lieu)
  • May be required to work on the days that accommodate special Glory House events, conventions and outreaches (These may overlap with or include Bank/ Public holidays) to be taken back as TOIL (Time off in lieu)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide accurate monthly accounts, reports
  • To provide financial control to operations and ensure total adherence to same
  • To assist the Pastorincharge of Finances and the Management Team in the control and development of high profile operations and regular involvement in project analysis.
  • To develop robust Management Accounting System
- this having the capability to monitor and provide regular reports to Management and Trustees.

  • To review and update all financial and auditing systems
- presenting recommendations for change.

  • To prepare weekly statement of outstanding payments.
  • To prepare weekly bank reconciliatory statements on GH (11) Bank Accounts.
  • To process automated/ manual payment to suppliers and third parties.
  • To process bank and record all income ( donations, offerings, automated receipts)
- providing accurate monthly and quarterly accounts and reports

  • To oversee the finance team volunteers
  • Make appropriate calls chasing up bounced cheques on credit card income
  • Media sales: Process manual payments to all suppliers and supervision of media accounts.
  • Management of cash transactions and cash book transactions (Prepare all a/c)
  • Church offering
  • Run payroll on a monthly basis
  • Assist in the budgetary preparations with heads of Departments for projects
  • Liaise with Glory House banks
  • All staff are required to work to a work plan and take responsibility for the monitoring and evaluation of their work.
  • Processing and general administration of Gift aid claims and returns.
  • Posting of GH transactions in SAGE line 50 and Microsoft Excel.
  • To assist with overseer functions over the finance team during midweek services and occasionally weekends.
  • To create and maintain fixed asset register and regulate all aspects of online banking transactions.
  • To provide any other duties stipulated by the Senior Pastor or your line manager.

Any other Accounting Qualification plus 4 year's experience in the industry.
