Donor Liaison Supervisor to join our Operations and Patient Services division.

Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)

Location:
Hybrid between home and head office in Hampstead, London
_(you will be required to attend the office at least once a week, as well as for all in-person team meetings)_


As a Donor Liaison Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating your team of Verification Typing Coordinators on a daily basis, providing effective guidance and delivering active daily management to achieve team targets and KPI's.

As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members.

Ultimately, you should lead by setting a good example and engaging the team to achieve goals.


You and your team of Verification Typing Coordinators will be responsible for contacting volunteer stem cell donors who are a potential match for a patient in need of a lifesaving transplant.

You will arrange the procurement of blood samples and discuss procedures relating to the donation process, communicating this information effectively to volunteer stem cell donors.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as an ability to multitask under pressure.

You will be working as part of a team, in line with our core values and behaviours in a fast-paced environment.


You will:

  • Lead, guide and develop an effective, high performing team
  • Direct the team to ensure our practices and procedures stay up to date with the regulation and requirements of the service
  • Contact volunteer stem cell donors who have been identified as a potential match for a patient in need of a lifesaving transplant to arrange the collection of blood samples as quickly as possible.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to donors, customers and colleagues, ensuring we answer all queries in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update our donor database, ensuring information is accurately processed
  • Deal with sensitive donor and patient information in adherence to GDPR guidelines
  • Keep up to date with procedures and protocol in relation to the donation process and actively share your knowledge with your team, colleagues and donors
  • Participate in projects, service improvements and the implementation of new processes
  • Ensure compliance with all standards, policies, procedures, and documentation requirements set by Anthony Nolan and our regulatory authorities such as the Human Tissue Authority etc
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Be willing to be vaccinated (Hepatitis B), as you will be handling, sorting and packing blood samples
