Salary London: "Base salary: £43,750pa to c.£54,650pa depending on skills and experience.

Salary Birmingham: " Base salary: £40,750pa to c. £50,950pa depending on skills and experience.

As a Requirements Manager at HS2 you will ensures that the HS2 requirements are successfully developed, instructed and complied with through application of the requirements management processes for their parts of the HS2 scope.

About the role:

  • Work to the HS2 Requirements Management Plan (and any associated processes and procedures) throughout the HS2 Programme Lifecycle, following its framework for capturing, disaggregating and disseminating requirements from a top-down perspective into the technical and delivery organisations.
  • Support the communication and understanding of the Requirements Management Plan throughout HS2 and check that the Requirements Management Plan is being implemented, participating in audits of this when necessary.
  • Responsible for ensuring sponsor and stakeholder requirements are instructed across the programme and into the supply chain, through the development and elicitation of system, subsystem and contract level requirements. Management of requirements into the supply chain for the delivery of an overall integrated HS2 Railway.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to elicit and develop the requirements and expected verification and validation evidence.
  • Enable progressive delivery of the verification and validation of the requirements, building suitable submissions of verification and validation evidence to support the HS2 integrated milestones.
  • Work within a digital environment for Requirements Management (DOORS) and support others to ensure its effective use within HS2 and with suppliers.
  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures in EDI.

About You:

Skills:

  • Able to provide specialist technical support and leadership on requirements management and verification & validation principles to project development / delivery teams, with ability to seek further guidance from Subject Matter Experts or others.
  • Able to articulate basic understanding of requirements management and verification & validation to other disciplines, based on a mix of training and examples of application.
  • Ability to establish, clarify and communicate the importance of requirements within Systems Integration.
  • Competent in analysis and reporting of progress of requirements management activities.
  • Quantitatively and qualitatively assess the performance of delivery organisations against supply chain requirements.
  • Ability to work with Subject Matter Experts.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of requirements management practices, systems engineering and systems integration.
  • Knowledge of verification and validation methods.
  • Understanding of the impact of requirement changes on cost, delivery, schedule targets and the need to deliver an integrated solution.
  • Chartered Engineer/Membership of an appropriate professional institution or working towards with the equivalent experience.
  • Meets minimum CPD requirement for professional institution every year.

Experience

  • Experience in managing requirements activities on any engineering projects/ programmes.
  • Experience of managing competing project and engineering demands, with cost and schedule implications on any engineering projects/ programmes.
  • Experience of managing requirements in a multi-disciplinary and complex project environment.
  • Experience of working within a requirements management tool.
  • Experience of managing requirements within a Regulatory/Legislative Framework.
