Responsibilities / Position overview:

We're after an energetic digital designer who likes to squeeze the most they can out of the brief they have.

You can think of a number of ways to approach a design problem and want to explore them all in order to find the best way forward.

You can rationalise your concepts and ideas and easily articulate why one would work in a better way to another.


You will have with a real passion for working both independently and collaboratively as part of our digital product team to create excellent award-winning work, and will couple this with good understanding of the fundamentals of UI (User Interface) design, patterns and consistency.

Equally, you know that each brand has a character which can be amplified by your design choices and decisions. Visual communication, hierarchy and consistency are the tools of your trade.

You are an open-minded communicator who doesn't shy away from a problem as solutions of creative excellence and effectiveness are your goal.


What will you be doing?

  • Working closely with your colleagues in Digital Product, Creative, and Brand design to bring ideas to life over multiple user touch points.
  • Working with UX designers, developers, testers and project managers, you will join various project teams for a range of clients and work on multiple projects
  • Take projects from ideation and concepts through to final designs, working alongside a UX designer and taking into account the client's needs and desires for their brand
  • Work in Sketch/Invision and other design tools to produce well organised and structured files which are accessible for developers. You will be able to document and articulate how you want your design realised in terms of consistency and patterns.
  • You will be able to show how the various components of your designs should change and adapt across breakpoints and devices
  • Liaise closely with developers to overcome any issues and review designs in build to ensure pixel perfection
  • Contribute to ideas for winning new business, innovation in the design space and pitch work
  • Have ability to share and present your ideas well and give strategy and reasoning for design choices.

Qualifications:

  • Previous responsive digital design experience of around 35 years, ideally in an agency.
  • Solid knowledge of design tools such as Sketch, Invision and Adobe Creative Cloud or if you're currently using Figma, willingness to learn.
  • Awareness and curiosity around current digital design trends, ideas and things to try.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates creative flair and polish, an ability to construct visual hierarchy and an understanding of how to employ colour, typography and art direction.
