Job Title: Assistant Financial Accountant at Finance Team

Welcome to the company where you are a key player in the finance team reporting directly to the financial accountant. Your role involves crucial responsibilities like month-end closing procedures, monthly recordkeeping, and contributing to preparing monthly management accounts. You'll also be the go-to person for handling audit queries and cash/banking-related questions.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Part-qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) or QBE
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Adeptness in using accounting software, Excel, and MS Office
  • Capacity to work efficiently under pressure
  • Desirable experience with Evision/Microsoft Dynamics NAV

General Duties

  • Owning the Fixed Asset Register, including reconciliation and depreciation calculations
  • Conducting daily bank reconciliations for all accounts
  • Handling various payments, including subcontractors, vendors, expenses, and payroll
  • Executing monthly cost allocation journals
  • Submitting Subcontractor CiS returns
  • Regularly reviewing AP and AR ledgers for accurate payment allocations and debt collection discussions
  • Managing Hire Purchase postings and reconciliations
  • Reconciling balance sheets, including accruals and prepayments
  • Supporting the financial accountant during year-end close
  • Assisting with VAT reconciliation for quarterly returns
