Hardware Designer - CPU / C/C++ / Python / ARM/RISC-V cores

  • Exposure to ARM/RISC-V CPU cores?
  • Do you want to work with one of the worlds most well known tech/telecoms companies?

We are searching for a number of Hardware Designers with solid CPU experience and experience in software development (C, C++, Assembly, Python) plus knowledge of ARM/RISC-V CPU cores to join a globally known company on a fully remote basis, on a long term freelance contract (Inside IR35 if inside the UK)

The role is mostly focused on the development of a brand new and competitive CPU architecture, and will see you defining interfaces between hardware, firmware and the operating systems (amongst numerous other tasks)

What do we look for?

  • MSc or PhD in a relevant subject
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Good Understanding of CPU instruction set architecture and assembly language
  • Familiar with the ARM/RISC-V/MIPS architecture and the micro-architecture of current ARM/RISC-V CPU cores
  • Experience in software development (C, C++, assembly, Python)
  • Experience modeling microprocessors using higher-level languages like C/C++

Any of the following will be considered a plus:

  • Familiarity with one or more following technologies: the Advanced Vector Extensions(AVX), the Scalable Vector Extension(SVE), Scalable Matrix Extension(SME), Confidential Compute Architecture(CCA), Morello/CHERI
  • Experience in compiler backend, such as code generation, performance analysis and code optimization.
