About the Role:

The Quantity Surveyor position involves providing support to the Senior Quantity Surveyor in ensuring commercial and contractual control, as well as coordinating project activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Submit monthly applications to the client on time.
  • Achieve variation recovery through site meetings and negotiations.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement and agreements.
  • Produce accurate monthly revenue forecasts.
  • Handle project cashflow statements.
  • Report project profitability.
  • Review subcontractor payment certificates.
  • Attend project review meetings.
  • Procure materials at the best price.
  • Review terms and conditions.
  • Review client orders and produce documentation.
  • Participate in Sales to Operations Handovers.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed.

  • Operations Manager (Support)
  • Project Managers
  • Sales and Purchase Ledger Manager
  • Estimating Department
  • Sales Department
  • Customer Service Department

Line Management:

The line manager for this role is the Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Relevant Experience, Skills & Knowledge:

Essential / Desirable

  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Understanding of the Housing and Grants Construction Act.
  • Familiarity with JCT, DOM, NEC forms of contract.

Relevant Qualifications:

Essential / Desirable

  • Educated to A level or equivalent.
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths.
  • Pursuing or willing to pursue qualification as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying.

Communications and Interpersonal Skills:

Essential / Desirable

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive approach to work.
  • Team player.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
