If you have a solid understanding of finance systems and are well-versed in the chart of accounts and financial reporting structures within Openreach and the broader BT group, then we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Finance Manager: specializing in Finance Systems and Transformation. This role is based in either London, Birmingham, or Bristol.
As the Finance Manager: focusing on Finance Systems and Transformation, you will play a crucial part in the financial systems and transformation activities, reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager of Financial Reporting for the Openreach central function.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of systems-related governance and change, leveraging the MFB deliverables and our investments in the SAP platform. Additionally, you will have a holistic view of Openreach, supporting the broader finance community in establishing a reliable and robust finance system platform to ensure strong governance and advance the continuous improvement goals of the Openreach finance community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading all systems-related initiatives to ensure that chart of accounts and processes are efficient and aligned with evolving business requirements.
- Managing the prioritization of system and reporting changes, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of requirements.
- Collaborating with the FFSS team on finance data requirements and providing comprehensive documentation for quality solutions.
- Driving continuous enhancement of finance systems and reporting throughout Openreach finance to maintain consistency and uniformity across all finance business units.
- Offering ad-hoc reporting as necessary.
The ideal candidate is a pragmatic team player with a supportive yet challenging leadership style, capable of holding others accountable while meeting their commitments consistently. They should be a subject matter expert with a proven track record of engaging effectively across the organization and managing cross-business teams to deliver complex solutions seamlessly.
Additional qualities include:
- Experience in matrix-managing cross-business teams for multi-phase solutions.
- Ability to address conflicting priorities and ensure the successful delivery of organization-wide finance programs.
- Setting agendas, identifying opportunities, and advocating for best practices.
- Providing valuable insights on finance work areas or specialisms.
