Primary Purpose of the Role:

nWork within the Product/Project and Bid teams to apply expert level knowledge of IV&V techniques and approaches to planning and implementation of formal and informal testing strategies.

Verify the correct integration of internal and external interfaces in accordance with the project requirements and customer needs and attain customer acceptance of the end solution.


Key Interactions:

nThe job-holder will work closely with all members of the Bid/Product/Project team, especially the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM), Product Design Authority (PDA) and Systems Engineer, as well as potentially the customer and end user communities.


Key Responsibilities:

nPlan, develop, document, and coordinate IVVQ activities from Integration to Customer Acceptance.nCreate and implement IVVQ strategies for current delivery and future projects.nProvide advanced technical leadership for fault investigation/rectification and test activities as required.nEnsure all resources (equipment, tools and personnel) are available on the planned dates.nAct as a mentor and/or instructor to more junior members of the IVVQ teams on a consistent and sustained basis.nWork with the test team and design teams to develop novel approaches to identify and resolve problems.nDirect testing activities of a team of IVVQ engineers.nCarryout problem solving to effect positive change with respect to quality, costs, test cycle reductions and ease of test.nEnsure the required test evidence is captured and recorded within the VCRI.nEstablish and maintain effective communications with the customer.nPrepare and present at IVVQ gate reviews.


Essential Skills & Experience:

nMinimum 6+ years of experience in an IVVQ role on complex systems development / integrationnGood understanding of IVVQ strategies and philosophiesnDetailed knowledge of the various system lifecycles.nExperience of continuous integration and test activitiesnExperience of formal verification, validation activitiesnExperience of Acceptance Testing for UK Defence suppliers and customers – FAT, sell-off against requirements, technical writing skills, excellent communication and analytical skills; excellent command of the English language, both written and oralnAn effective team player who can interface at all levels across the organisation.

Able to operate successfully in a multi-cultural environment, working effectively with teams distributed across different sites/countries.nSelf-starter, must be able to perform job responsibilities with minimal directionnStrong organisational and team working skills.nExcellent customer relationship skills.nUse of DOORS and JIRA.


Desirable Skills & Experience:
nTraining and/or Simulation domain knowledge and experience.nUse of Vivaldi or Other Test ToolsnExperience and/or willing to travel and undertake site work in UK, Europe or the Middle East

Essential Qualifications:
nHonours Degree or equivalent in Science and/or Engineering

Special Requirements:
nWilling to travel in the UK, Europe and Middle East
