Job Title: Software Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Simulation Software Proficiency: Operate and troubleshoot various simulation software and tools for virtual testing and scenario modeling.
  • Hardware Equipment Testing: Conduct detailed tests on physical rig hardware systems to ensure thorough examination of all components.
  • Testing Methods: Perform integration testing, system testing, acceptance testing, regression testing, and performance testing.
  • Comprehensive Results Documentation: Record test results meticulously, identify and document failures, deviations, and software malfunctions. Analyze causes and implications, and prepare reports and corrective action plans.
  • Embedded Systems Testing: Engage in manual testing, write test scripts and cases, carry out tests, analyze results, compile evidence, and create problem reports.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in simulation software and hardware equipment testing.
  • Proficiency in various testing methodologies.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Background in embedded systems testing, including manual testing and writing test scripts.
  • Must be a sole British citizen eligible for security clearance due to the nature of the defense industry.
  • Able to be on-site in Crawley 3 days a week (hybrid role).

Tools:

  • Familiarity with JIRA, DOORS, and VMWare is beneficial but not essential.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in the defense sector, knowledge of radar systems, system engineering, and requirements management is advantageous but not mandatory.
