Hill Robinson Group ('HRG') is a leading independent provider of yacht management and other related services. HRG operates from a network of 12 offices across a range of countries, and following a period of rapid growth, now employees over 250 people.

We are looking for a Systems Accountant to support the group's ERP Implementation Project and ongoing system maintenance. This role will work closely with Finance, IT and other business functions to develop robust, financial processes with a particular emphasis on developing, implementing and maintaining a strong control framework within a multinational environment which meets both external and internal functional and reporting requirements. Key functions of the role include process documentation following Group Finance policies and the ERP technical requirements, effectively reporting and communicating these to Group Finance and other stakeholders, transforming the legacy data into import packages, testing the solutions and providing guidance on potential enhancements. This role will play a critical integration function between the Technology and the Finance teams and guaranteeing the implementation consistency along the different project phases. Strong experience in ERP Implementations is essential as is experience with 'Tier' 2 SaaS products. Direct implementation experience of SAP "ByDesign" is highly desirable or alternatively SAP Business One. This role is UK based, with a requirement to regularly visit the group offices near Chester and Conwy, but occasional travel will be required to other overseas sites. Responsibilities
  • Proactively support the system configuration, deployment and data migration for the SAP implementation project
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller and Project Finance Lead to help ensure that the SAP implementation is successfully achieved, with policies that are consistently across departments
  • Engage with members of the Finance team and other departments, to ensure that business requirements are fully understood and documented, and that processes and systems are configured to meet them
  • Ensure any local legal reporting requirements are efficiently addressed in both the SAP system and any supporting systems, as necessary
  • Partner with IT team to ensure timely roll out of the systems through training and testing into go live launch phases
  • Deliver internal support and training to the financial teams before, during and after the different go-live phases
Person, skills, and knowledge Specification Academic Background and Experience
  • Solid understanding of ERP systems, from a financial perspective, and regarding the integration between the operational transactions and the financial records.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and core financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement).
  • Strong experience of working within a strong financial controls environment with the ability to influence policy in this area.
  • Experience working with different Accounting Standards (for example IFRS) and jurisdictions (UK GAAP, US GAAP, France, or any other localisation)
  • Strong skills on financial and analytical reporting design and delivery
  • Proven experience on financial data preparation and migration as required over the implementation of an ERP.
  • Accounting qualification preferred.
  • Experience of working as part of an ERP project delivery team.
  • Knowledge of internal reporting required to manage a manufacturing business.
