Job description:
The Bury Black Pudding Company are the only Black Pudding producer based in Bury. We are currently recruiting for a part time delivery driver.
The Company objective is to become the world's leading brand in Black Pudding and one of the truly great UK food companies.
As this is a driving role, you will require a clean driving license which allows you to drive up to 7.5 tonne vehicles.
Your main responsibility will be to transport and distribute customer orders according to company procedures, food safety legislation and health and safety standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and within legal parameters, including carrying out all daily safety checks and following tachograph procedures.
- Monitor and record van fridge temperatures whilst transporting goods.
- Carry out checks on all orders to ensure they match the paperwork prior to loading the vehicle and leaving site.
- Ensure delivery records are completed and all paperwork is returned to the warehouse office.
- Undertake deliveries and collections as required dealing with enquiries with a high level of customer service. You will be required to load and unload our vehicles, therefore this role will involve heavy lifting at times.
- Cash handling for a small number of customer orders and entering in a till accurately upon arrival back to site.
- Build a rapport with the company's customers and ensure any potential extra sale opportunities are reported to the sales team.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and use the tools provided to ensure you work safely.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean inside & out and report any repairs required.
- Clean and wash the company vehicle every week.
- Liaise with colleagues from all departments to identify any issues and provide solutions.
- Work in a competent manner demonstrating safe working knowledge of equipment both on and off site. Wear appropriate PPE when required.
- Adhere to the customer's site rules when making deliveries.
- Be courteous to other road users.
- It is the duty of all employees to ensure that a safe working environment and safe working practices are always maintained.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Driving licence, ability to drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle, CPC an advantage
- Friendly, approachable and able to communicate well with the public
- Good customer service skills
- Excellent driving record
- Good knowledge of road traffic laws and geographical awareness
- Honesty and integrity
Summary:
- Hours of work hours per week
- Days 4 days per week
