This is an exciting opportunity to join the Capability department in a part-time permanent position as a Capability Admin Coordinator, based from the Nottingham Support Office.

We're looking for a highly-organised individual with great problem-solving skills to support the setting up, administering and reporting of learning and development activity and content across various platforms, with the goal of providing a joyful experience for learners.

About the role


This role reports into our Admin Team Leader and sits within the Capability Shared Service team which, as well as providing administrative support, is also responsible for the design and delivery of programmes and content and the handling of learner-related queries.

Together, the Shared Service team supports the work of the wider department in increasing the capability of all Boots team members in line with the changing needs of the business and our customers.


  • The key responsibilities of the role are:
  • Setting up learning content within our learning management systems (e.g. eLearning modules, eTests, events), according to best practice.
  • Maintaining learner data for key programmes, from nomination to completion (Eg. trackers, certificates, data outputs), using various systems and spreadsheets and working closely with programme leads across Capability.
  • Supporting with event management (Eg. securing venues, allocating trainers), liaising with third parties as required.
  • Coordinating learner and trainer resources (Eg. printing, equipment), liaising with third parties as required.
  • Supporting with financial tasks for learner activity (Eg. purchase orders, invoices, grant claims, leaver reclaims).

What you'll need to have

  • First and foremost, you need to be a brilliant problemsolver; able to assess tasks logically, naturally spotting better ways of doing things and adapting quickly to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • In terms of technical skills, you'll need to be able to use a variety of formulas and techniques in Excel (e.g. vlookups, pivot tables) and be a pro at learning new systems quickly.
  • You need to be someone who naturally pays great attention to detail and takes pride in the accuracy of your work.
  • You'll need a genuine sense of care for other people (both team members and learners); being really driven to understand them, their needs and how you can best help them.
  • Finally, you need to be a strong team player; willing to pitch in and support your team members as needed.
