As a Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Area Manager, your role will involve overseeing various aspects that contribute to creating a supportive and efficient working environment.

Your main focus will be on leading and guiding a team of skilled technicians dedicated to ensuring equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support colleagues in adhering to safety policies and procedures at the site
  • Implement EU network standards, strategize preventative maintenance, and guarantee technical availability
  • Collaborate with colleagues to gather and analyze data for process improvement
  • Execute and assist in site-based and network-level projects
  • Lead, assist, and mentor your team for their career advancement

In your daily routine, you will be stationed at one of our operational sites, giving you the opportunity to provide hands-on guidance to your team and have a clear grasp of the site's operations.

This will involve problem-solving in a dynamic environment and devising operational plans to enhance productivity and efficiency at the site. You will play a crucial role in setting up new projects aimed at enhancing operational processes and equipment maintenance.

Next to safety, a crucial aspect of your role is leading your team, overseeing their performance, and facilitating their growth and development, including arranging additional training sessions.

About the Team:
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is responsible for maintaining peak performance of our equipment. Comprising technically adept individuals who work collaboratively, guided by experienced leaders, we troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.

Some team members take on leadership roles, directing the team as they work with cutting-edge technology - some of which is exclusive to Amazon.

From installing automated packaging systems to managing general site maintenance and repairing critical distribution equipment, our team handles various technical aspects within Amazon. This includes ensuring buildings are compliant with regulations to uphold safety and maximize operational efficiency. There are abundant opportunities for growth within the RME team and across Amazon as a whole.

We are currently open to candidates for positions in the following locations:

Doncaster, POST-SYK, GBRBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- A UK Higher National Diploma (HND), Higher National Certificate (HNC), BTEC National Diploma (OND), Ieng, CEng or ILM L4+

  • Relevant experience within a maintenance team in an industrial or production setting that deals with various complex business processes
  • Experience in managing personnel within an engineering team
  • Engaging with and managing relationships across different stakeholders, including third-party vendors
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, paired with upper intermediate proficiency in the local language

  • A degree
  • Experience with statutory regulations such as compliance assessments and machine safety protocols
  • Proficiency in automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and PLC-based control systems
  • Experience in project management or Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma processes
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
