As a support worker you will be required to work independently with adults within their home, who have challenging behaviour, mental health and learning difficulties etc.

You will be supporting them to be able to live independently within society.

The relevant skills required for a Housing Support Worker is to be able to work with vulnerable adults and to be 100% committed to supporting each individual.

A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is essential for this role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily living skills
  • Providing physical/mental guidance
  • You will be responsible for ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly within company guidelines
  • Ensuring all residents have their needs met and their welfare promoted.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Maintaining all tenant support folders and complete regular reviews, ensuring they remain up to date.
  • Attend support audits on a quarterly or sixmonthly basis. Upholding all responsibility of the support folders and outcomes of the audits.
  • Adhere to Safeguarding, Health and Safety policies and procedures always and abide by legislation and statutory duties and data control protocols.
  • Preserve confidentiality always, in accordance with the agreed policy.
  • Work with colleagues and coordinate effectively with the team. This includes attending meetings to ensure all aims are being met.
  • Expected to give advice and assistance regarding security of the tenants' home.
  • Provide information and advice to tenants regarding the use of communal areas and use of any equipment within the property and what is expected
  • Complete basic household inspections e.g. general inspection of internal doors, operation of heating, lighting, drainage, etc in order to identify any issues that may need addressing via a maintenance request
  • Providing support for other services. e.g. budgeting support, advice and guidance with debt management and with alcohol/substance related issues.
  • Taking and attending appointments with residents and supporting them to budget with their shopping, when needed.
  • Work with external agencies to source independent referrals, for individuals who meet our level of accommodation to minimise room voids.
  • Collect and deliver food parcels to all residents.

Education:

  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care or above (preferred)
  • If you have not done your NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care, we can arrange for you to complete your qualification in your own time while you work. Therefore, this is a great opportunity to earn while you learn. Not only are you gaining a job and experience, but you are also given the opportunity to gain qualifications alongside.

Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience within the Supported Housing field and working with vulnerable adults is a must.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a support worker, is essential to be considered for this role.

Salary:
£9.00-£12.00 per hour
