You'll develop effective relationships with senior stakeholders across our organisation to understand what drives value in each operation, demonstrating to each business function the potential to use data visualisation to make better decisions that enhance their performance.

You'll also play a key role in existing strategic projects that are delivering our migration from Business Objects to Power BI and delivering a SAP bridge into Snowflake for better financial analysis and reporting.

You'll be leading, managing and developing a team of
8 data modellers and report developers working mostly in Power BI but also overseeing the existing Business Objects portfolio.

  • Working closely with our Data Engineering and Data Architecture teams to ensure our data platform develops to support the visualisation roadmap.
  • Instilling a Dev/DataOps culture and working practices into the Data Visualisation team.
  • Initiating and overseeing appropriate initiatives to deliver a continuously improving, robust and scalable service that meets customer and business needs.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Inspire and guide the Data Community across Penguin Random House to want and to be able to represent more information in this way your influence stretches far beyond the Data team.
  • Have relevant experience of the capabilities of visualisation tools to be able to guide consumers and develop colleagues on the "art of the possible".
  • Have relevant technical experience of methods of data processing, data models and data infrastructure.
  • Be confident and selfmotivated, energetic and engaging and most importantly passionate about data.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to liaise and influence effectively with all levels of management and business areas.
  • Be comfortable building and maintaining strong relationships with many stakeholders and colleagues.

Salary:
Circa £90,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus benefits.

We're currently experimenting with hybrid working and involving colleagues across the business to shape our future ways of working. The needs of our teams and individuals are different, so we're not taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

While our offices are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing.

For this role, there are meetings and activities that you will need to attend in person, mainly at our offices in London.
