Fox Morris are working with Lewisham Council in relations to finding a Head of Repairs to start work ASAP

Responsibilities
- to ensure continuous improvement and sustainable futures for the service, ensuring that the plans are effectively implemented.

  • Provide leadership, support, and motivation to staff in the teams reporting to you, ensuring that all staff are recruited, trained, managed, appraised, and developed effectively in accordance with Lewisham policies and procedures.
  • Promote a strong performance management culture which includes an emphasis on financial and budgetary control, and delivery of operational and corporate targets Set Smart targets with colleagues, monitor implementation and ensure early action is taken if performance is falling short of objectives.
  • Ensure that consistent quality management systems are in place across the repairs service functions, and as applicable lead the implementation of thirdparty accreditation
  • Ensure a 24/7/365 service is effectively discharged including the necessary back up emergency support that may be needed to staff outside normal working hours
  • Manage income and cost budgets for the service in accordance with Lewisham financial regulations and ensure that the Repairs service meets its trading objectives. Ensure any lossmaking types of work are identified and reviewed and take action to address any such problems.
  • Support all tendering and procurement matters required by the repairs service, ensuring prices submitted are viable and when contracts are awarded, work is carried out within the terms of the tenders submitted. On procurement matters ensure modern contract arrangements are put in place and best value partners are secured for subcontracting, vehicles, equipment, and materials.
  • Review and embedding all existing or required policies and procedures within the repairs service. Working with other areas of Lewisham Homes where we have multifaceted policies to ensure a cohesive approach
  • Responsible for customer experience with Property Services, through swift resolution of complaints, MP and Cllr enquiries and Housing Ombudsman Determinations to mitigate organisational and reputational risk. Including embedding lessons learnt and leading on business improvement within the Quality and Investment directorate and supporting improvements in the wider business.
  • The post has responsibility for the company budgets value of £18 million (on April 2023) and management of a team of minimum 150 colleagues
You will be required to work Monday-Friday (9:00-5:00pm). This is based on a 6 month contract and the pay negotiable.
