Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner as they enter the restaurant.
  • Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and informing them of specials or promotions.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, making not of any special requests or dietary requirements.
  • Enter orders into the POS system and ensure they are transmitted accurately to the bar/kitchen.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, using proper serving techniques and adhering to presentation standards.
  • Check in with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or requests promptly.
  • Anticipate the needs of guests and provide additional items such as condiments, utensils, or refills as needed.
  • Monitor tables for cues indicating that guests have finished their meal and promptly clear plates and utensils.
  • Process payments accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and electronic transactions with care.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in assigned work areas, including dining tables, service stations, and beverage stations.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of food, beverages and equipment.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas, cleaning and restocking supplies.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a restaurant environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with guests and co-workers.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic math skills for processing orders and handling payments.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and etiquette.
