About the Trust
We provide mental health and learning disability care for people across Norfolk and Suffolk. We support a population of just over 1.6 million people and employ more than 4,700 staff.

Our biggest bases are at Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich, Wedgwood House, Bury St Edmunds and Woodlands Unit in Ipswich but our staff are based in more than 50 locations.


What you will be responsible for:

  • Planning of appointments/meetings and Diary Management
  • Use the electronic patient database system to input data, validate and update patient information to ensure correct use of grammar, spelling and sensecheck of clinical entries.
  • Provide a friendly and professional service, dealing with incoming telephone calls, meeting, and greeting of patients, their families, and visitors on site via reception.
  • Assist with information gathering from multiagency partners and attending or minute taking.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate patient records, including filing and data input within confidentiality guidelines.
  • Use set procedures to undertake administrative and secretarial functions around legislative procedures i.e. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act.

You will learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You will have the following skills/experience:

  • Possess excellent time management skills, have a positive approach, and be able to remain calm under pressure.
  • They will also need to have the ability to confidently and sensitively deal with information from individuals which can be distressing at times.
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of the Trust system Lorenzo desirable
  • Experience of transcribing medical correspondence and documentation is essential for this role. Knowledge of medical terminology would be an advantage
  • Previous Customer service skills and full administration experience essential
  • Experience of working to deadlines, on your own initiative, and maintaining strict confidentiality are also essential.
