The Horbury Group are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join their busy Procurement Department at their Head Office in Rotherham.


The main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Producing purchase orders based on information received in site requisitions ensuring compliance with relevant specification standards.
  • Coordinating material deliveries and ensuring project programs are met.
  • Coding and placing purchase orders.
  • Managing the tender/quotation process, evaluating offers from suppliers and negotiating the most favourable terms with suppliers.
  • Producing reports of project costs and supplier performance.
  • Organising and chairing supplier evaluation meetings.
  • Introducing new suppliers.

Preferred skills and experience required:

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C and above.
  • 3 A levels or equivalent.
  • CIPS level 3 or 4 would be desirable.
  • Good IT and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of construction systems, along with industry experience in Joinery would be desirable.
  • Procurement experience.
  • Good attention to detail.
