Job Description CAD Technician - 6-month Contract Position (Outside IR35)

Torque Consulting is currently looking for a CAD technician to join a market-leading comapny based in the Chester area.

They have been around since 2019 and offer high-quality design, analysis and consultancy services to their clients.

We are looking for a proficient CAD Technician to support our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and updating various technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and Revit. The role involves detailed design work related to electrical infrastructure projects.

Site-Wide Layout Drawings:
Create and update comprehensive site-wide layout drawings using AutoCAD, including cable routes and equipment layout.
Develop detailed layouts for substations, transformer compounds, trenching, and cable systems using both Revit and AutoCAD.
Single Line Diagrams and

Block Cable Diagram Updates:
Update single line diagrams and block cable diagrams using AutoCAD.
Electrical Drawings /

Schematic Updates:
Revise and maintain electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD.

Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and updating site-wide layouts, single line diagrams, block cable diagrams, and electrical drawings.
Experience with Revit for detailed layout designs, particularly for substations, transformer compounds, trenching, and cable systems.
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with engineers and project managers.
