We have a rare vacancy for part time Eye clinic liaison officer (ECLO) to join our friendly multidisciplinary team at the Oxford Eye Hospital.


The team includes two other experienced ECLO post holders and you will strengthen our team to meet the growing demand for this service.


ECLO or similar early intervention support staff, work closely with medical staff, Optometrist, Orthoptists and Nursing staff in the eye clinics.

Most importantly as an ECLO you will have the time to dedicate to patients following consultation, so that they can discuss the impact the condition may have on their life.


You will provide frontline assistance for people diagnosed with sight loss and for their families offering emotional and practical support.

You will be pivotal in signposting and on ward referral of patients to appropriate low vision services as well as ensuring the completion and co-ordination and audit of registration of vision impairment (CVI) forms.

You will link with the sensory team in social services and Oxfordshire association for the blind.

You be empathetic, self-motivated and ideally already have some practical experience of working with people with Visual Impairment and have excellent communication skills
