Crisis Response Support Worker

Salary:
£21,500 (rising to £22,000 after 6 months completed service).

About the role
Our cultural vision is one of developing and maximising our people's potential. The successful applicant will join our Community Team working with a diverse group of people in the community. Alongside your team, you will provide a pro-active, people-led, holistic, and trauma-informed service to women, young people and children.

This role requires you to empower and support women and children, carrying out individual risk assessments and contributing to the health and safety within refuge.

Key to this role will be ensuring the safety of everyone you support and working within Cyfannol's framework to help achieve these aims.


About you
You will be resilient and robust with the ability to build trust and relationships with vulnerable people easily.

You will have an understanding and an empathetic personality, which will assist your approach when providing practical and emotional support to people via a range of methods.

You will enjoy variety and change with the ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative, although supported by a three tiered on-call system.

You will be open minded, non-judgemental, enjoy working with different backgrounds/cultures and understand the complexity of VAWDASV.

You will have an approach that fosters empowerment and personal growth.

You will understand the challenges of providing critical services to vulnerable people, and ideally have experience within the Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence sector.


Specific responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and promote the organisation's ethos, vision and values
  • Keep abreast of regulation changes within HR related topics, attend training, develop networks to support development in the role
  • Contribute to the protection and enhancement of the organisation's reputation
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision and appropriate training
  • Work within the Organisation's Policies and Procedures
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required as requested by your line manager
  • Deliver specialist Domestic Abuse support services to women and children who seek safety, support or information often at the point of crisis through our dropin centre.
  • Carry out initial needs and risk assessments to determine what level and type of service is appropriate.
  • Support women to identify and engage with their personal safety plan.
  • Signpost/refer women to the most appropriate service(s) including external agencies, social services, the police and our own services.
  • Process requests for emergency refuge or temporary accommodation, assessing suitability and arranging transportation if needed.
  • Complete MARAC Referrals for highrisk clients and occasionally attend MARAC meetings ensuring completion of all tasks allocated to CWA.
  • To ensure completion of ringing and recording of all PPN referrals received from the police.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained in relation to all aspects of the service, including inputting information into the Information Management System.
  • Be fully aware of the child and adult protection procedures, report to line manager any concerns and process referrals when required.
  • Work alongside colleagues to ensure the smooth running of all our support services.
  • Encourage clients to participate in and give feedback on service provision.
  • General

  • To represent the organisation at external meetings, public events, conferences and similar ensuring that our reputation is protected and enhanced.
  • To actively work in partnership with other agencies and organisations to achieve better outcomes for women and children affected by VAWDASV.
