The
Position


The Kia Oval is the home of Surrey County Cricket Club (SCCC) and is a leading cricket and hospitality event venue in central London.

The ground has ambitions for continued growth in parallel with sustainable practices both of which need to be supportedby the infrastructure around the venue both current and future.

Being a 365 day a year venue The Kia Oval is a constantly evolving workplace and to remain considered as a top tier venue it requires both reactive and proactive oversight in relation to its operationsand maintenance.


The role will ultimately be responsible for supporting the Head of Facilities (HoF) in the strategic delivery of works and improvements to the venue, across areas of maintenance, cleaning and CAPEX project delivery.

This position will require a dynamic problemsolver who can easily transition between administration, management and coordination of works as required.


What you'll do

  • Lead the administration support of the HoF, maintenance and cleaning teams
  • Directly assist the HoF in the planning, preparation and execution of operational critical maintenance and improvements
  • Time / schedule management of internal and external resources to ensure the effective delivery of works. This management will also extend to the planning of the works themselves
  • Liaison with Maintenance and Cleaning teams including Heads of department (Hod) to determine workloads, capacity and forecast future activities considerate of the venues matchday and event calendar
  • Collation of information and details in relation to facilities/ maintenance/cleaning works, arranging these tasks so that they can be easily located, accessed and used to assist scheduling, resourcing and delivery of works
  • Production of reports for presentation to HoF and other members of senior management
  • Processing of supplier invoices, PO's and payments in line with established SCCC procedures
  • Understanding of budgets, financial management and associated processes including reconciliation of costs against approved budgets
  • Assist with communications to others Hod's capturing feedback and consolidation of this into actionable items or improvement of procedures
  • Where necessary work with the HoF to seek streamlined procedures to make the facility and its operations more efficient.

The Person

Essential:

  • 2 years working in a facilities management or coordinator role
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple workstreams at one time
  • Strong scheduling skills with the ability to dynamically respond to fixed or tight deadlines
  • Open problem solving based mindset with ability to maintain this during stressful periods
  • IT and technology literate

Desirable:

  • Experience in the built environment, event coordination or project coordination
  • Passionate about working in a collaborative team environment
  • Interest in sustainable/environmental work practises and how this can be integrated into operations
  • An appreciation for systems/procedures based thinking.
