Job description


Our team of volunteers are essential to the delivery of our services; they are a group of passionate and committed individuals and we need to increase their numbers as demand for our services grows.

We have created this new role to focus on recruiting more volunteers and to make sure their experience of working with HOST is as fulfilling for them as it is for the families they support.

We are looking for someone with exceptional organisational skills and a positive 'can-do' attitude.

We need someone who can create engaging content for social media campaigns to generate interest in all our volunteering opportunities.

The successful person will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of volunteer recruitment and managing the volunteer journey from advertising right through to those volunteers starting to deliver support.


Main respnsibilities:
To coordinate all aspects of volunteer recruitment including

  • Take lead responsibility for ensuring a sufficient number of volunteers are available to support the various family support services offered by Home-Start HOST
  • Create content to promote volunteering opportunities at HOST using social media platforms, print media and events outreach
  • Work with Family Support Managers to ensure recruited volunteers are allocated to Coordinators
  • Monitor volunteer levels, retention and feedback
  • Ensure volunteer journey is consistent for all Home-Start HOST volunteers
  • Ensure the volunteer base of Home-Start HOST reflects the diversity of the communities served
