I am currently recruiting for a Planning Engineer to join my client who is the world's leading manufacturer of luxury cars based in Crewe.

You will be working standard hours Monday to Friday and them welcome remote working.

  • Lead and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). The RTE's major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. RTEs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and driverelentless improvement.
  • The RTE has a solid grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices and understand the unique opportunities and challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large development program.
  • Also participates in the Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in the new processes and mindsets. The help configure SAFe to the organization's needs, standardizing and documenting practices.
  • They will manage and coordinate the Scrum Masters to ensure alignment across all the development work streams.

Key Deliverables:

  • Collaborates with Product Management and System Architect/Engineering in driving the ART
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban and other information channels
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering the preparation of Vision and Backlogs
  • Facilitate the PI planning event
  • Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency
  • Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including ART Sync, the SoS, and perhaps the PO Sync at the Program Level
  • Assist with economic decisionmaking by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the rollup to Epics, where necessary
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Help manage risks and dependencies
  • Escalate and track impediments
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System Architects/Engineering
  • Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams using the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps
  • Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
  • Report status to Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) and support related activities
  • Understand and operate within Lean Budgets
  • Facilitate System Demos
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve
  • Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices
  • Organizes and facilitates ART Events
  • Fosters agile culture within the entire ART
  • Fosters team and people exchange
  • Improves the documentation quality of the product specification
  • Provides aggregated (management) information (reports) on program status
  • Fosters general program communication exchange between numerous stakeholders
