ROLE DESCRIPTION


Data is our business so the role of Data Operations Associate
is a vital position on the STR Data Operations Team.

In this you will ensure data is clean, accurate and stored correctly. You will oversee an element of report delivery for our benchmarking product.

In addition, you will support with our client interface as you assist with tasks relating to data feeds and automation.

You will work closely with STR's data contacts at our clients, and internal team members worldwide, to ensure the accuracy of and continued provision of data.

You are self-motivated and detail-orientated with strong analytical skills. You thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and can quickly adapt to any type of situation.

Strong inter-personal skills and commercial acumen are also a must, as this role will require collaboration with various stakeholders where data integrity, data quality, and client confidentiality are a top priority.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Quality assurance and upload of daily, weekly and monthly data from corporate submissions, automated data feeds and manual data files.
  • Work with our clients and data providers to understand and resolve data discrepancies and challenges.
  • Notify the research department of any data collection related issues (room supply, open dates, etc.).
  • Work with our client facing Account Management to monitor and improve participation levels.
  • Generate, check, and send selected reports to corporate clients and individual properties.
  • Act as an internal point of contact for data related queries.
  • Work on various projects as needed and able.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to a bachelor's degree level, ideally in the field of hospitality, data, business management or finance, or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English, French and/or German a bonus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with data sets, the ability to manipulate big data sets/work with disparate data sets.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • History of working in a detail orientated role whereby attention and focus was a priority.
  • Ability to react to shifting priorities, always delivering the required standard of support
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish strong working relationships with executive management, internal clients, team members and other departments.
  • Experience within the hospitality business.
