We would like to thank you for your interest in the role of Business Director at Bourne Education Trust.

We are seeking a Business Director to lead the compliance, governance and legal areas of the Trust as well as its marketing and growth. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Business Director will lead on the development and delivery of a programme of work which will ensure the Trust's activities and growth are controlled, compliant and effectively led. As Business Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the organisation operates ethically, adheres to legal requirementsand strategically drives growth.

This dynamic position requires a keen eye for detail, project management skills and strategic thinking, as well as the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes. The post-holder will act as the Trust's Company Secretary, working with the Board's Governance Professional and the Finance Director to ensure that the Trust operates within its articles and complies with its legal responsibilities.

The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of organisational improvement processes and a genuine desire to make a difference. As Business Director you will be an inspirational and visionary leader who will invest in the next stage of our Trust's development.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and the senior executives to implement the Trust's 3-year strategy and business plans. This could include setting and managing budgets, targetsand outputs, as well as reviewing progress against these plans
  • Support other senior members of the Trust in the development of functional strategies and plans ensuring these comply with government requirements for business change
  • Develop the due diligence process ensuring learning from each implementation
  • Take responsibility for leadership of the cross operational teams on the due diligence process for potential new joiners to the Trust and subsequent conversions of successful schools to the Trust
  • Lead aspects of and contribute to the overall success of the Trust's development agenda, with a focus on cross operational team projects
  • Coordinate the development of management and information systems to ensure the optimum structure and value for money
