Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom Kin and Carta UK Full time

Want to help build a world that works better for everyone? Kin + Carta is a global digital transformation consultancy that makes a difference to the billions who now work, play, shop, communicate and share online.

Join a global team of curious and diverse minds in connecting people, data and technology to produce amazing experiences for some of the world's most influential companies. Become a maker, builder or creator as we explore the possibilities of sustainable digital technology, helping clients to rapidly innovate, modernise their systems, enable their teams, and optimise for continued growth.

We focus on tech but we're a proudly inclusive business with trust and human connection at its heart. People, the planet, and profit matter equally to us which is why we're a certified B Corporation in the United States and Europe.

The role in a nutshell:

As a Senior Product Designer at Kin + Carta you will be responsible for solving complex design challenges crafting great products and experiences.

You'll be critical to every project you are on; able to draw on your breath of knowledge of product design principles and methodologies to influence and lead many of the project's design decisions. You'll also be mentoring other designers, both in day-to-day project activities and as part of more formal career development across the Design team.

As part of the team you'll be working on products, services and experiences for some of the world's most influential companies. We work in multi-disciplinary, dedicated teams and are involved from planning and discovery through to build and execution, whilst advocating for the user every step of the way.

What you can expect:

As a Senior Product Designer at Kin + Carta you will:

  • Set the agenda and tempo for more junior members of the Design team.
  • Possibly line-manage a couple of team members and coach them to accelerate their careers and contribution to K+C.
  • Help define the strategic agenda of the Design team and its role at K+C.
  • Set the standards for best practice
  • Are a master of your craft, creative and eager to take on tasks you've not tried before.
  • Are the gatekeeper for the quality of the products you work on with a keen eye for attention to detail
  • Encourage experimentation with new ways of working.
  • Explore new ways of generating ideas, bringing them to life and sharing them.
  • See the big picture and give user/business context for design decisions.
  • Are keen to present your own thinking, ideas and design work at pitches.
  • Use past experience and client knowledge to spot and resolve problems.
  • Embrace challenging conversations if needed to get to the best product outcome.
  • Keep your skills fresh and up to date by participating in professional development
The type of person we'd love to meet:
  • You're primarily focused on human-centred design, backed by a broad knowledge of design patterns, art direction, iconography, typography and colour theory.
  • You can evidence a strong portfolio and experience in delivering projects across web and native apps. Experience evidenced in other digital channels/platforms is also welcomed.
  • You're confident conceptualising and visualising solutions in response to the problems, ideas and opportunities you help extract from users and partners.
  • You have experience driving your design decisions and rationalising them using research data, design principles, prototypes and the resulting user-testing insights.
  • You're most effective when collaborating with engineers, strategists and other team members to respond to the constraints of any project.
  • Extremely proficient or even a super user of Figma,, Adobe CC suite and ideally a variety of prototyping tools.
  • Confident client-facing, supporting the presentation of the team's latest design work.
  • Inquisitive and eager to continuously improve and learn
  • Collaborative and ego-free, able to give and receive feedback to and from all team members regardless of role or level.
  • Experienced in agile methodologies, and software development practices.

Making a Decision - Following the interview process, our hiring team will get together to discuss feedback and make a final decision. We aim to get back to you as soon as we possibly can

Our average recruitment process takes around four weeks . You will be assigned a dedicated member of our Talent team to support you throughout the process.

We will always do our best to accommodate any reasonable adjustment requests. Please just let us know how we can make the interview process more accessible for you.

Here at Kin + Carta, we believe in building a better and more welcoming world for everyone.
