An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic and professional Finance team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust as a Deputy Chief Finance Officer.

You will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership on all aspects of financial management to support the operational delivery of a safe, quality patient care environment for the portfolio covered, in order to deliver operational targets within affordable budgets

  • Deputise for the Chief Finance Officer
  • Alongside the Chief Finance Officer; providing functional support to the Chief Operating Officer and other Executive Directors,., development and implementation of financial strategy in conjunction with MSE strategic objectives; support to annual and long term business planning; adherence of polices, processes and procedures within its functional remit; and Trust compliance with NHSI and other external regulatory requirements.
  • Delivery of robust financial performance reporting and financial forecasting, for both Revenue and Capital whilst still maintaining patient safety, care and experience.
  • Responsibility for a number of departments and portfolios providing services across the whole Trust, including Financial Management, Commissioning & Income, Capital & Planning and Training & Development.
  • Alongside the Chief Finance Officer responsibility for ensuring excellent financial governance, rigor and challenge on all aspects Trust business, planning, delivery and performance.
  • Active involvement and contribution in system forums, particularly with respect to the financial performance of the system, and the implementation of our financial sustainability plan.
