Job Description:
We are in search of a highly motivated and experienced Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead our vibrant department. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for languages and a commitment to inspiring students and colleagues alike. They should possess outstanding leadership qualities, fostering innovation and collaboration within the MFL department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the MFL department, providing guidance and support to the team.
  • Create and execute engaging MFL curricula that meet national standards and the school's educational objectives.
  • Track student progress and achievements in MFL, implementing tailored support strategies.
  • Cultivate a positive learning environment within the MFL department, encouraging a love for languages and cultural awareness.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to strengthen cross-curricular connections and enrich the overall learning experience.
  • Stay updated on language teaching pedagogy advancements and integrate best practices into departmental approaches.

Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant undergraduate degree in Modern Foreign Languages or related field.
  • Demonstrate a successful teaching track record in MFL at the secondary level.
  • Display effective leadership and management skills, inspiring and motivating colleagues.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Show dedication to continuous professional development and improvement.
